Kelce Shut Down, Vallos Back

Jason Kelce is done for the year, officially. The Eagles announced today that he has been placed on injured-reserve. Kelce had a completely torn MCL and partially torn ACL. The injury looked gruesome and turned out to be.

Head Athletic Trainer Rick Burkholder said that when they scoped out Kelce's knee, they found out that the partial ACL tear was enough to where it would also need repaired, along with his MCL. "He'll have the ACL reconstruction probably somehwere between three and four weeks if everything goes well," he said.

The Eagles announced today that they signed veteran center Steve Vallos, who spent the offseason with Philadelphia but was cut once rosters were trimmed down to 53. Vallos was originally drafted by Seattle and has eight starts in his career. The time he spent learning Howard Mudd's scheme in the offseason will be very important for him.

This is a big blow to the Eagles. Dallas Reynolds experienced his first NFL game action on Sunday and played pretty well against a tough Ravens front. We'll see if teams target Reynolds with stunts and A-gap blitzes to test his inexperience.
